Klezmer reparations and other moments of interest...
Okay, so klezmer reparations definitely fall below Slavery Reparations. Nevertheless, I was excited to stumble across this article from Rokhl, the Rootless Cosmopolitan. Focusing on the Jewish community here? Building on Jewish culture in the present? MESHUGGE!

Thanks for the props, yo! But I know you just want to get in on those fat checks when they start coming. I'll keep ya updated. (There may not be much left after the lawyers get their cut...)
I'm so down with my klezmer reparation dough that I'm learning it on my tenor sax just so I feel I can double as a witness during the litigation. I couldn't help but notice your picture places you in front of a tzimbl... ideas on good books to pick up?
Heh. That picture of me "playing" a tsimbl is faker than the klezmer reparations check I just tried to cash. Indeed, I cannot help you if you are interested in learning tsimbl. I CAN tell you that two of my friends, and wonderful jewish tsimbl players, will be playing at John Zorn's new club, the Stone, in February. Keep your eye on the Stone calendar if you want to see some tsmoking tsimbling in person.
Sure. I'm always down for some really good tsimblism. I'm just saying.
